Mike Podesto of Find My Profession was notified on March 4,
He has never been my client or business associate.
While they say you haven’t made it until you have a troll, I find Mike Podesto’s behavior sad and hope as he matures (he’s 26) that he’ll find a more positive way to try to build a business. Imagine if the job seekers he hopes to bill for a resume and applying to job postings for them ($13,000 price tag) approached their searches by denigrating other candidates or their former employers.
Beyond his efforts to hurt my reputation, Mike Podesto also attacked over 500 other resume writers and career coaches in 2018 and on into 2019.
As of mid-April 2019, Mike continues with his competitor disparagement. This and at least one other factor appear to have prevented him from earning BBB accreditation. Under pressure, he did drop many of his unsubstantiated advertising claims, which helped him improve his BBB rating.
Mike Podesto Removed by Several Organizations
Prior to the BBB’s censure action, two
- The Forbes-affiliated Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC).
- The Professional Association of Resume Writers (PARW).
In addition, these sites appear to no longer allow Mike’s posts:
- LinkedIn Pulse.
Specious Affiliation Claims
Also prior to the BBB’s report, several websites deleted Mike’s posts. He has slowly stopped claiming to be a contributing writer for those sites.
Mike Podesto & Find My Profession — What’s Next?
One of Mike’s recent posts declares his website, findmyprofession.com, “The Best Executive Job Search Site” in the world.
He ranks himself ahead of LinkedIn and Indeed. Those sites get visitor counts in the hundreds of millions each month; Mike’s site doesn’t.
Thus, it doesn’t look as though Mike plans to stop making unsubstantiated claims. Given that, I hope you will ignore what he has written about resume writers and career coaches and not allow him to interfere in the peaceful conduct of our businesses.
